What Kind of Sleeper Are You? Part 2Posted March 3rd, 2008The sleep savvy seniors, about 21% of the population, get about 7.3 hours of sleep each night compared to 6.8 overall. While most are over 65 and have some health problems, they report getting adequate sleep. The dragging duos are partnered, employed, and work more than 40 hours per week. A key point is that they work before going to bed. When I just have to check something on the computer, or do some other task, it is very difficult for me to go to sleep. That is one reason this group is dragging, doesn’t function well, and is tired most days. This group is 20% of the population. The sleeping and missin’ the kissin’ are about 15% of the population. Most have some type of sleep problem or other type of medical problem. Their sleep problem affects them and their partner. I guess these problems stifle romance! As someone who has sleep apnea, I know that an effective treatment can revitalize one’s health and well-being.
